Generative art using Truchet tiles

Truchet tiles are tiled patterns generated in such a way that each individual variety of pattern perfectly interlocks with any other one. The tiles are laid out on a grid, but can be subdivided infinitely to form deeper and more intricate patterns.

I was inspired by this research, which led me to an existing p5.js sketch, which I added some features to before creating these images.
