Proof of concept, depth render with data from Intel Realsense
The Temple of the Bird God was a project created for, and installed at Disorient Country Club in 2022. The system, mounted on top of a fencepost, contained a Raspberry Pi 4 reading depth sensor data from an Intel Realsense. The image data is processed using CV libraries called in an openFrameworks application, to apply the Canny edge detection algorithm in order to extract only the shape of the life form approaching the piece. Using a mini projector, it shows an interpretation of the life form in an interactive way, on the forest ahead.
Pray to the bird god. You know what you’ve done.
